A guild for everyone who makes with digital tools

The Guild of Digital Craft is now open to artists, coders and anyone whose work is made with digital tools. Here is what that means, and how to join.

e Guild of Digital Craft began as a place to learn 3D and animation. Today it becomes something bigger: a guild for everyone whose work is made with digital tools.

That means 3D artists and animators, illustrators and concept artists, game developers and programmers, VFX and motion designers, photographers, editors, sound designers — and anyone else whose craft happens on a screen. If you make things with software, you belong here.

Why a guild?

For centuries, guilds were how makers shared what they knew, held one another to a high standard and helped newcomers find their feet. The tools have changed beyond recognition. The idea has not.

Digital work can be lonely. Tutorials teach you buttons; they rarely give you peers, feedback or a record of how far you have come. The Guild is here to do that: small-group courses taught by working artists and developers, a clear path from Apprentice to Journeyman to Master, and a place to show what you make.

Artists and coders, side by side

Code is craft too. A shader, a pipeline tool or a game system takes the same patience and taste as a sculpt or a matte painting — and the best digital work comes from people who can talk to each other across that line.

So the Guild is built for both. Every profile can link to GitHub as easily as ArtStation, and every portfolio piece can carry a link to its source code or a live demo alongside its images and video.

What joining gets you

A free account gives you:

  • your own public profile page, with a bio and links to GitHub, ArtStation, your website and more
  • bookings on our courses and a record of everything you have finished
  • certificates and a Guild rank that grows as you do

Guild membership — £49.99 a year — adds:

  • a portfolio: up to six images and three YouTube videos for every piece of work, and 50 images in total
  • links to code, demos and store pages for programmers and game makers
  • the Digital Guild badge on your profile and your work
  • the chance to be featured on the Guild homepage

Membership can be cancelled at any time and runs to the end of the year you have paid for. Your portfolio stays online even if you leave.
